The 3 R’s in Project3R: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Project3R works to spread environmental education about the 3 R’s: reduce, reuse, and recycle. Together, these actions help decrease the everyday environmental impact we have as individuals.

The first and most important step is to reduce your waste. Some ways you can do this in your daily life include opting for reusable items like shopping bags and water bottles, avoiding single-use plastics when possible, and only buying what you need.

The second step is to reuse! Instead of throwing something away, think about whether there is another use for the item. Some ways you can reuse are donating old clothes and supplies, using a glass jar as office storage, or refurbishing old furniture.

The third step is to recycle. If you are throwing something away, check to see if it is recyclable! Some common recyclable items are:
Cardboard
Glass
Paper
Aluminum
Some Plastics

Make sure you check local guidelines for what can and can’t be recycled in your city!

When you use the 3 R’s in your daily life, you help the planet.
